April came and went in a rush. Work was busy, so I feel like my ability to read or do anything else decreased quite a bit. Especially since in what little free time I did have toward the end of the month, I started watching Seiyu to Yoasobi. Which is fine ultimately, but I needed time to adjust it into my daily schedule (the intention was only to watch a few days a week, but so far I’m still 7/7 as of week 2 lol…). Oh well, I’m sure it’ll all balance out in the end. Let’s take a look at what I read this month.

So this month I read 49 manga down from 61, 3 light novels down from 8 and 25 one-shots down from 31. So, as expected, my overall reading went down this month. I’m not really sure what’s going on with light novels, I think I was just too tired to focus on long-form text, and it took me forever to read 86 despite the fact that it wasn’t that long. It was dense, though, and not very engaging, so I spent a week and a half just reading that on the way to/from work. Hoping to do better next month, not least because there’s a lot of exciting stuff in the backlog. I’m currently reading Lycoris Recoil’s light novel, which is proving a good change of pace.

One nice thing is that I did read a lot of my Japanese books! 16 compared to 26 last month, but that still made up for a more than half of what I bought in that language. Backlog unfortunately did rise from 905 to 929 though, so hoping to cut that down next month before we get dangerously close to 1,000…
